We’re here to build and share knowledge about health access. So leaders and decision makers involved in health systems can see real examples of what’s working and explore new solutions.
Both in Australia and around the world, many communities can’t get the health services they need when they need them and maintaining them is a challenge.
ACHA is here to change that. We want to help under-resourced communities get fair, reliable, and long-term access to healthcare.
We will do this by:
- Creating knowledge – Collecting strong, relevant data and insights
- Turning knowledge into action – Making sure research leads to practical changes
- Scaling success – Repeating and adapting what works in more places
- Raising awareness – Helping the wider public understand why health access matters and how they can help
ACHA is a social enterprise of RDN - The Charity for Health Access.
Who we work with
We work directly with communities who face barriers to healthcare, and with the people and organisations who support them, including:
- Local community members
- Doctors, nurses, and other health providers
- Decision-makers in government
- Universities and researchers
- Other sectors linked to health (housing, education, etc.)
- Health administrators
The work we do
We run practical, community-led research projects that focus on addressing the barriers to healthcare in under-resourced communities. We also partner with and aggregate evidence from others in the health sector to support health access.
We make sustainable impact by offering:
- Commissioned research
- Expert advice
- Data and knowledge products
- Knowledge translation activities
This allows us to reinvest in:
- Community resources
